Curious how many OR folks are rolling Elon EV boxes. No EV's in my family.

No Tesla here, no desire for one. We did the EV experiment for 4 years with my wife’s Taycan. She insisted on one and I didn’t fight it because she never gives me crap about all of my car decisions. We lost our ass on that Taycan and both of us were glad to see it go. She’s driving a Cayenne S Hybrid now and absolutely loves it.

If forced to EV(*) Tesla would be at the bottom of the list. Not 'cause "hate 3l0n" but because they're horrible; they are the paragon of what's wrong with all new cars.

* CarChick and I are in agreement: Any BEV or Hybrid is not allowed to coexist in the garage with the prized ICE cars.

Was it only the depreciation or other things about the car? I mean I see it go both ways with the Taycan. Some love it and others hate it. Not sure who to believe!

But with the depreciation I'm seeing it certainly makes for a compelling used car buy if prices get much lower and I get an itch for an EV. My dad might disown me though...haha!

Car manufacturers getting lazy and putting everything in the infotainment screen is a major problem.

When I first got my truck, if you remote started it, it would turn on the heated steering wheel if the temp was below some level.

To turn it off was buried in the HVAC menu.

They finally fixed it with a software update than kept the soft button on the "home" screen.

No EV for me in the near future. We have to drive long distances in frigid weather, with very limited charging infrastructure available. They may be OK as an urban commuter, but not suitable for trips across the Canadian prairies.
