When I got my Cayman I had to get insurance from Geico, as they were the only one to offer collision insurance on a daily use car with a branded title. (Previous Total Loss claim)

Now that I am sure I am never returning to an office job, I think I can do better moving the car to a "collectors" or "occasional use" car type policy/company.

Who do people use and who do they like?

I have Hagerty for my grey market car. It's cheap, but they do require that you have a normal car insured through a regular insurance agency for daily use.

My agent just got Haggerty for me for the Javelin AMX. Was amazed at the price. (And I have an SUV, 944 and 951 with him through Progressive).

$30k replacement value, 3k miles annually, free tows within 100 mi radius, $330 a year.
I can also up the replacement value with an appraisal at any time.

Hagerty for me as well, on the two Porsches and street rod F-100 truck. No claims yet, and hopefully it stays that way.

Well Frack!

Seems that the fact my wife's S450 has had 3 windshields in three years makes us uninsurable by Haggerty.
They only want to see 2 or less comprehensive claims in the past 3 years.
I can refile in September when one drops off.

And the cost for the Cayman and 914 together was less than 1/2 the cost from Progressive for just the Cayman. (However it still had commuting lists so I might be able to get a lite discount.)

Switched my 2024GT3RS and 1999 Mercedes S500 to Hagerty's and saved quite a bit, even on my regular policy, I also drive it only 5000 miles a year.
I like that you can just state a value and its cheaper.
