I'm shopping for a slightly used / cpo premium suv. I test drove a base level 2024 Macan with 21" wheels. The seats and handling were Porsche perfect but the road noise in the cabin seemed excessive to me on the highway. The Sales chick tried to tell me "it's just this road", but when leaving, I drove the same stretch in my 2020 Ford Edge that I'm getting rid of. The Ford was noticeably quieter (the Ford has 18" wheels). Is road noise just something you put up with or does this experience seem off -kilter? I was disappointed for a brand I love and for a car I'd be plunking down $70-80K.

I had a 2023 Macan GTS for about 5 months. It did have the thermal and noise resistant glass, but it was really quiet. The noise could be the type of tire they had on it.

Thanks. I didn't know the quiet windows was an option. My buddy just told me he has it on his '17 Macan turbo. But....damn if I can find it in the '24 configurator.... I'll ping the sales chick on this.

You’ll find it under “lights and vision” on the configurator. It’s called “Thermally and noise insulated glass front/rear.” Cost is just under $1k.

I had a 24 base Macan with springs not airbags, and it was terribly noisy as compared to my 18 with air suspension.

Thank you for the sanity check. That's got to be part of it or most of it. My option requirements are getting focused.
