Ok I know a lot of you guys aren't into Facebook or any other social media. But this site was founded on the basis of free speech and that is something quite lacking in today's society. I figured why not really take this concept and run with it?

So you'll notice that on the top menu bar we now have a "Community" selection.

This will take you to a new section of the site that contains our articles, the gallery, and a Facebook-like newsfeed. Within here you can also form and/or join groups that can be made private where you can hold conversations or share photos and files amongst yourselves.

Yes I realize some of you won't have a lot of interest in this so for that reason it is a completely separate section of the site and the forums will not be affected at all by this. No need to be concerned that I'm going off on a tangent here. What I've essentially done is create a wrapper around the forum. The forum is still the heart of the site but I also want to provide a mechanism for those who may not like the forum format or find it easier to network and communicate with social media features instead.

To explore the features you'll want to look within the circled areas where you'll find all of the functionality available:

Hmmm.... I guess it doesn't show up using the other template style? My screen looks much different. Couldn't find the community link

Sorry about that, I keep forgetting that with Elegance I need to go back and manually make any menu changes.

Note that for any sections outside of the forum, it will automatically revert back to the new color scheme. But once you go back to the forum then Elegance will load back up again.

You should see a "Community" menu selection now at the top where Member and Forums are.

I figured that would be the case with a lot of you here. But what I want to do is provide a platform for others who might not be a fan of a forum format. I keep reading complaints about Facebook and Twitter essentially doing the same thing that the other board did with censorship and only catering to those who think a certain way.

My grand vision is to provide a space for those who want to speak freely. Now there's no way I'm going to upend everything after the tremendous support you have all given me but I figured if I build around the forum then I can maintain core functionality while still building for a larger audience.

We'll see if it catches on but if not then no harm as the forum remains untouched.

Our designer asked what I wanted in the license plate. I thought of my new handle almost immediately
