if anyone is going to die on the Fikse hill it will be me. I had my rear quarters cut off and then put GTS quarters and had them widened even more so I could get 335's on the back.

You know you can call Augment and they will make you a wheel in - literally - any offset you want right?

So... I'm not going to stop you from that hill, but you don't have to die on it.

As soon as the snow melts enough for me to get to my storage I'm sending Fikse/Kodiak my eff'd up wheel and between me, Jeannie, Fikse, Kodiak, etc., we are going to damn well reclaim the "lost art" of the 68.5mm offsets.

Knowing what I know now, I probably would have had them do the fronts wider as well. The shorter spindle & hubs will work for me (as well as shorter rotor hats)

To each his own, but I'd rather get custom front fenders made than mess around with "the negative spacer" thing.

Bodywork is a rabbit hole I never want to go down again with my 928. Augment wasn't even around back when I ordered my current Fikses in 2007. If I didn't have my fikse wheels I would seriously go for the 18" phone dials

While you go down that rabbit hole have them make the mid height center caps again. They don't even have the drawings for that according to Brant.

Yes. I know. I knew that when I wrote that it was feces and I stand by what I wrote and will double down: do not trust current Porsche "literature" for correct information as it pertains to 928s. The original literature - much of it originally on paper and microfiche - is much-more correct but still has some errors.

They had tables for 'approved' tires for their vehicles.

And the tire sizes are right. However, this was about wheels and that chart is basically so wrong as to be useless.

If you are attempting to point the finger at me - no sale. The information I provided as it relates to measuring wheels and determining offset was totally valid. If my reply back, to his claim that I was wrong and didn't know what I was talking about, drove him away - that is fully on him. If you can't stand and support your position, maybe you should run and hide.

Regarding the table you provided a link to: I accept it as good information. There's no grudge there. It is more detailed and provides other options beyond what is provided in the Porsche table. However, I am not seeing where the Porsche table differs from the one you prefer. The wheel dimensions and offset numbers match your table (and vice versa). Exceptions include your listing of a 15" wheel and the Club Sport wheel.

Regarding the defense of my opinion. Maddog and I traded a few PMs on the matter of those wheels. Whether you want to trust me, on this, is your call. This information along with my interpretation of what I saw in the photo helped to form my opinion. I still contend that a trial fit would have avoided all confusion.

I have nothing against you. I respect your knowledge and experience with these cars. We got off on the wrong foot here. Should we ever meet in person, the first few rounds are on me.
