So... I'm not going to stop you from that hill, but you don't have to die on it.
As soon as the snow melts enough for me to get to my storage I'm sending Fikse/Kodiak my eff'd up wheel and between me, Jeannie, Fikse, Kodiak, etc., we are going to damn well reclaim the "lost art" of the 68.5mm offsets.

Knowing what I know now, I probably would have had them do the fronts wider as well. The shorter spindle & hubs will work for me (as well as shorter rotor hats)To each his own, but I'd rather get custom front fenders made than mess around with "the negative spacer" thing.
