And for only $120k over the price of the original GT4!

I'm sure the race teams can absorb that cost without breaking a sweat.

This thing is a total disappointment. What a pig! Heavier than the new GT3 cabrio. Basically a nuetered cup car for the same cost and maintenance requirements of a cup car. Absolute miss by Porsche.

This was the first (and only) comments on that article:

"This is pure spin by Porsche. They bailed on the electric Cayman at the last minute, have no gas variant ready, and lost a ton of money in the process. Building a detuned and decontented 911 GT3 is easier and cheaper for them, and is really their only option after killing their actual best car."

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but not sure what the point of the comment is other than 'Porsche bad for cancelling Cayman', we'll find out what the teams actually racing gt4 think next season if/when the 911's show up.

I do believe teams will appreciate the ability to race two series without learning different vehicle dynamics and also potentially sharing some parts/maintenance facilities.
