I know it's not a fault of this site - but I keep getting 'broken' images in many threads. Even photos that I post. My personal computer has no such problem.

Is there a way to tell my work computer it's OK to view images that get converted from that image storage site? I can fix a lot of things but, I can't fix simple stuff on a computer... :banghead:

Here's what I get instead of those hot country chicks...

And instead of six broken images, I see just one.

Your work computer must have some filters being applied to social media sites. Are you still able to get into Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc?

Can you get to Imgur itself?

If not then that's the issue and aside from going through a VPN I can't think of a way around it.

If you can get to Imgur it might just be the way it's implemented here, if that's the case I'll reach out to the developer of that integration and see if there's a way he can help troubleshoot.

It’s most probably blocked on your corporate network / firewall / proxy.

Try using a public VPN (protonVPN or any other big name vpn), if that doesn’t work, try a web based VPN (hudemyass.com). If that won’t work, your admin knows what he’s doing and you’re SOL on going around it.

I don't fecebook or twatter. I think I would be able to access them, if I wanted to. YouTube is no problem.

It does not like Imgur. I can't get to that site.

I'm sure this is good information - but you need to explain it in a way that a six year old could implement it.

I suspect you have hit on it, with your last statement. I'm willing to waste some time looking for a work around, though.

I notice that many images come through with no problem. Is there a size consideration at play here?

I posted this yesterday and it shows for me. ~65k

Then I post bigger files - and they don't show. Test:

OK - neither of those came through for me.

1) www.protonvpn.com and follow instructions

2) if that doesn’t work, you can try web based proxy/vpn: https://hide.me/en/proxy

3) install BRAVE browser. It has built in Tor and that just might work (you just click file, open new private window with Tor)

4) if you’re a user with no knowledge about computers and tech => it’s easier to say you are SOL since explaining how to get around firewall / content filter to a 6yo doesn’t really work, I’m sorry.

If someone uses "Upload Attachment" then it won't go to Imgur but if you use "attach images" it does.

Going to Imgur does save me space as I don't store those locally. But if you did use upload images for those and they still appeared then there has to be a threshold or pattern.

1) and 2) provide error messages. Can't get past firewall...
3) Looking at that right now. Without 1 or 2, it does no good, correct? Just ran it. As I suspected, didn't change what I'm trying to fix.
4) No problem. I know my limitations. Computers are just a tool for me. Understanding how to twist it to my desires is not a high priority. :beerchug:

Yes - I've been using Upload an Image. Let's test the attachment feature...

OK - found a work around. I'll try to minimize my use of that feature. But there's something to be said about actually seeing everything one intended to post...

If I don't log-in to my company's VPN, all is good.
