I ran across this Acty pickup (with a Elsinore 50 strapped in the back) at a car show in Phoenix.

In more Phoenix car show action, we ran across a guy today with a dual-sunroof fuel injected Acty microvan :rockon:

Just to bump this thread, we found another minty 3rd Gen Odyssey while we were in Phoenix...so had it shipped home to Michigan.
It is a 2008 EX-L with 2 owners and 59K on the clock that lived in the sunbelt it's whole life, so was super clean.

I 100% agree with Jeremy Clarkson and Harry Metcalfe that current cars are actually worse at actually being CARS;

Interesting 47 minute discussion;

I honestly believe that Peak Honda happened earlier, like around 2010 as opposed to 2015.
What does the OR crew think?

I'd say Honda peaked late 90's, early 00's. By 2010 everything (sold here) was basically a Japanese Buick.. bland transportation appliance, designed to hit all of the consumer reports test categories, and geared towards the Costco crowd.

I agree. In 2001 we had the S2000, NSX, and Integra Type R. That's peak for me.

I got our '84 Honda ATC 125M out from storage, and after over 40 years the carb/petcock assembly developed a leak.
After mulling my options I ordered a complete replacement carb from chyna, which bolted right up and fixed the issue...all for the princely sum of $27.00.
So it's back and ready to ride with new fuel lines/clamps all for under $40 .00 :rockon:

One of the vans driveshaft U-joints was bad. Worse than I thought. They are staked in with no circlip and not designed to be replaced but it can be done. You have to cut out the old U-joint, knock out the caps, grind the staking smooth, then a new joint goes in as normal.
Two of the bearings were totally gone and the yoke was taking a beating. I had to fill the worn areas with weld and finish it with a dremel.
The new U-joint comes with a zerk so it should last forever. I pressed in the new caps and though they went in nice and snug, with nothing to keep them from backing out I gave them a little tack weld.

Wow Alex, that's one heck of a Tech Tip...thanks for posting it!

Our Acty made it's 1st trip out of storage on Sunday, to our favorite large local car show and it ran perfectly :thumbup:

On America's 250th birthday, we started the day by taking our Acty to a huge car show :rockon:
Many hundreds of vehicles streamed in at the Cars & Coffee, but (WTF?) the coffee was free but there were NO portapotties on-site :confused:
We ended up seeing many folks whose paths we hadn't crossed in years, which was very nice!

My mom and aunt took their vans on a 2,500 mile trip from New Jersey up through New York, Quebec, New Brunswick, and back through Vermont.

Reliable as a Swiss watch.
Only one of them needed a little oil to top off once.

Wow, that's awesome!
I presume they stuck to mostly back roads, as opposed to running on the freeways a lot?
Our microvan will DO 73, but it's not a FUN 73 (it's much happier around 60 :thumbup: )

Strictly local roads and county highways. As you know they are happiest around 45mph.
