Hi,

I didn't know this car existed until a few days ago. I guess I just arrived at the USA when it debuted.

This one got my attention. :eyepop: :eyepop:

Not that I'd crave an American 4-speed muscle car, but darn, this car is impressive.

Anyone here ever owned/driven one? I guess no one puts 1k miles a month on this car. One K miles per year perhaps.

There's always one on BAT for sale...
Interesting fact: they were built (converted?) by Kar Kraft

Thats my bucket list, win the lottery car...

Here's a picture of a guy I know, he's owned his Boss 429 since 1971 and it is a true survivor car. I see him about every other cars and coffee I go to here in the KC area, he's a very nice guy that lucked into a car worth a fortune. He paid $2,300 for it.

And no, there wasn't a Cougar equivalent made. They did make a Mercury Cyclone Eliminator, but that was based on a Torino body, not the Mustang, and aside from a handful of the competition cars that ran in NASCAR, none of them ever had the Boss 429. They, for the most part, came with 428 Cobra Jet engines.
