after asking many questions, maybe time i gave something back to this forum.

below is the how to modify Peugeot 108 rear light bulb holders to fit the 87-95 model rear lights
so pretty much a ROW thread.
if you are buying other items from Roger at 928srus and need some bulb holders please continue to use his excellent aftermarket versions.
cheers
Phil

the ones i use are from a vehicle that i don't think is sold in the US, so actually very much a ROW market thread.

everybody remembers their first time....rear side light not working, must be the bulb, fit new bulb, still not working, look inside bulb holder and find bottom contact corroded away, sudden sinking feeling, oh ffffff now what do i do? :bigcry:
see below

being a Peugeot mechanic as my day job, was changing a bulb on the rear lamp of a 108 and thought they look a very similar size as a 928 bulb holder.

so i got a rear light loom from ebay and had a good look at them

a few sets are usually on ebay, for around £20 or probably cheaper still down your local breakers yard
all Peugeot 108 rear lights are the same and the same as the Citroen C1 MK2, but the Toyota Aygo, which is basically the same car has different rear lights/bulb holders

part numbers are:
1612468380 and 1612468580 are the part numbers for the P/S and D/S rear lamp bulb holders, for this job it makes no difference which loom you use, both have a twin filament bulb holder + 2 single filament bulb holders, onw with an orange wire and one with a yellow wire, more about the wire colours in the instructions below

just a few pictures of them fitted below, but will post the actual how to when i get the looms so you can see the before and after the certain lugs have been removed from them
cheers
Phil

It has electrical contracts in it; Because it is a bulb holder.

The plastic housing doesn't fail, its the contacts inside them. They corrode and then break off.

You pause the print and insert the contacts (stolen from a new bulb holder)

would be hard to remove the contacts in the bottom of the bulb holder + the earth contact from the side + the wiring and try to refit it into a 3D printed holder.
easier to just trim 2 lugs off a ready made bulb holder

and you get 3 bulb holders per loom, so about £7 per ready made bulb holder

And that is the whole point.

finally got the 2 rear looms and as pictured, the only difference is the plug that connects them to the body of the car, 1 connector is white and the other side is black, so makes no difference which loom you use for this job.
cut the 3 bulb holders out, throw the rest away and you will be ;left with what is in the last picture = 3 bulb holders per 108 loom.
will get down to the what to/ how to, this weekend

starting with the twin filament side/fog light bulb holder, pictured below is how it is on the 108, note the 4 securing lugs
20241123_163040.jpg
20241123_163056.jpg

now pictured with the lugs removed and ready to fit to your 928, note the lug on the right bulb holder is trimmed thinner along the top of it

20241123_163151.jpg
20241123_163238.jpg

first picture below shows the bulb holder just in the light and the second shows it turned and locked in position

20241123_164321.jpg
20241123_164334.jpg
still uses the original bulb from your 928.
black wire is the earth = brown wire on 928 loom
red wire is fog light = yellow wire on the 928 loom
purple wire is side light =green wire on the 928 loom

and although wires look close to the bumper they do not rest on it when installed

others to follow
cheers

brake light bulb holder note 4 lugs
20241123_170922.jpg

and needs to look like below to fit your 928, note the lug on the right bulb holder has to be shortened and the + shaped lug has to be shaved 50% thinner

20241123_171115.jpg
20241123_171309.jpg
picture of it just installed and below that is it locked in position

20241123_172400.jpg
20241123_172425.jpg
uses the original bulbs
black wire is earth
yellow wire is + supply wire

more to come
cheers

this one does either the indicator or reverse light, note the 4 pins

20241123_173827.jpg

and what it needs to look like to fit your 928
20241123_173648.jpg
20241123_173807.jpg

and the just fitted and locked in position pictures

20241123_174702.jpg

this bulb holder uses bulbs that have offset legs so you will need a generic 586 bulb
black wire is earth
orange wire is + supply

just the side light to go
cheers

the single side light bulb holder is the same as the reverse and indicator bulb holder, but needs to be a 5W bulb
but a 5W "586" bulb does not exist, so i had to be a little creative.
using a standard generic 207 type bulb, file off approx 50% of one of the bulbs securing lugs.
so the original lug still locks the bulb in position and the other lug is an interference fit on the other side bulb holder wall

hopefully will help someone someday.
