What a talented guy.
He upgraded my ECUs 10 years ago and helped with some trouble shooting to get my car to run better with the alpha-N

RIP Louie

That is too bad.

From what I heard he’d been declining for a several years.

I met “The Professor” when he was just Louie and his GT was still stock.

My first impression was seeing him sitting on the ground with a display of files working on his Kinesis Wheels. (Whatcha doing? Oh, I just curbed this brand new one and I’m working on it.)

My second impression was with Earl Gilstrom as a passenger running Louie down (in the Time Before Cellphones) when Louie made a wrong turn and lost the group.

Third impression was Louie telling me - after his first time on track - “I finally figured out what the factory was doing when it did the 2.73 rear end.”

RIP Louie.

So sorry to hear this. Louie made many innovative developments on his 928, and shared both the good and bad (fire from using propane for refrigerant) with the community. We all benefitted from his creativity and openness. Thankful for his presence and contributions. Sad hearing of his loss. My condolences to his family. Rest in Peace Louie.

Sorry to hear. Saw it on TOS. As has been said, very generous with his time and the sharing of his knowledge. I got to sit down with him (literally, on the floor) at the 2009 OCIC and asked him about my silver car's stroker configuration. He started off with "So much wrong..." ( :frown: ) and then we talked about things that could be done (still working on them).

RIP Louis

Here's his obit as posted on TOS:

RIP My friend. I spoke to Louie back in July. He seemed to be in good spirits but lamenting his health and memory lapses. I have a good number of his creations on my 928 and the 928 world has been long missing his guidance and antics. We had a few good laughs about his 928 fire and his plane crash as well as his last project building a plane to replace the one he wadded up more than a few years ago.

RIP Louie, you more than earned it.

Åke

Posting that right after maddog2020 is kinda funny!

Check this thread out:
This is why I don’t do technical 928 posts on TOS anymore…

I do know that Louie's website went away after a bit, and I was glad I copied some of it's content before it went away.

TOS put up this link. I found it easy to post my memorable recollection of Louie and to add a candle (no cost) - white, of course, for Louie's white beast!:
