Acquired in 2008, been garaged since then. Had fun with it, and wanted to do some restoration on it but have been overcome with other priorities. Running when parked. Unable to get it started after being parked the last few years. Electrical gremlins; voltage to fuel pump around 4 volts, ignition box 2.5 volts.

75,352 miles. Auto transmission. Sunroof. Body is clean; not a single dent. Bought an interior leather kit years ago and never installed it.

Entertaining reasonable offers. Prefer to sell the whole car as opposed to a part out but will consider. Picture is many years old.

Dan, shouldn't you know "Rocket Man Ro[d]gers" ?

Profile says he's in Florida (guessing East coast from the picture?). Joined August 24, 2024, and this is the only post. Hmmm.

Interested in selling the leather kit separately?

Sorry for the late reply guys. Been on a long business trip and just got back a few days ago. I'll try to answer your questions.

1. Has it ever been in a flood? Not to my knowledge. I've owned it since 2008, it was driveable until a few years ago, when I would fix one issue, only to have one or two more crop up. It's been in a separate garage in my backyard for the past 16 years.

2. Recent pictures? Attached, covered in dust.

3. Sell the leather kit separately? I would but I can't guarantee it's quality. It's been sitting in a cardboard box for years in the garage.

You are correct about East Central Florida. The old picture was taken at Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville (Across the river from the Kennedy Space Center).

Ha! It's been too long, but I should have recognized the area even more. Nice little restaurant at that airport once upon a time, and my dad flew to it at least once to visit (Comanche Chrokee Six) when I lived in Titusville in the early 90's!

Thank you for the updated pictures. If anyone needs help at the Florida end, I will be glad to try to help.

By the way, in case it helps any, I heard about this recently:

Space Coast Region PCA is holding their annual Oktoberfest Concours, BBQ & Swap Meet (9:00AM - 1:00PM) on October 19, 2024 at F. Burton Smith Park in Cocoa, FL.

Unfortunately my rocket days are long since passed! Can't believe it's been 22 years as of 10/2024...
PS nice project car!

Thanks for the feedback from the group. I agree with a suggestion that has been made: If you're interested in the car, send me your offer. The best offer I receive my October 5th, 2024 gets the car; no reserve. And I will take 5% of the sale and donate it to this forum, for making this platform available. If that sounds reasonable, let the bidding start.

Some additional information that i should have included in the original post:

The last issue it had when it was running that caused the extended down time was a bad fuel pump. When I was replacing that I noticed a seep of fuel on the fuel tank (plastic). I pulled the tank to repair that, and at that time decided to change every rubber hose that fuel passed through, from the tank outlet and tank vent all the way to the injectors. The hoses to the fuel rails, and from the fuel rails to the injectors was replaced with braided steel hose. The fuel rails were cleaned up and sent out to be anodized. The injectors were sent out to be cleaned and bench checked by a injector repair house.

After doing that, I was motivated to change out other rubber hoses. All of the engine vacuum hoses were replaced with blue silicone hose. I was in the process of changing out most of the coolant hoses, but some were not available at the time. The windshield washer system had all three pumps replaced (including the headlight washer pump). All of the washer hoses were replaced, but when I tested the system, the pumps came on but I couldn't get flow at the nozzles. I think the numerous check valves in the lines are probably dried up/clogged.

The Green Wire from the distributor was replaced.

A new DieHard battery was installed last year when I thought I was getting ready to run it again. Its's been disconnected and periodically trickle charged.

The final drive oil was changed and the gasket replaced. The transmission fluid/filter and torque converter were drained. It's partially refilled; it needs to start to run the pump to refill the converter.

All of the external lights (except the headlights) were replaced with LED's from Superbrightleds.com. One of the side marker bulb receptacles is corroded and needs to be replaced.

The engine appears to never have been pulled from the car. As such, every gasket and rubber seal in the engine is 1982 vintage (i.e. it has leaks). I have a silicone oil pan gasket from Roger at 928sRus.com that is not yet installed; I was saving it, thinking I would pull the engine at some point to overhaul it.

I'm sure I'm missing other things, but wanted to give you a sense of what was being done to the car during all the down time.

Rocketman,

Can you provide more interior pictures?

Do you have the interior bits that are missing from the doors?

Thank you, in advance!

Hi Carlos. Yes, I will try to get some interior pictures today. The panel missing on the passenger door is because I bought the replacement ABS plastic door panels to replace the OEM cardboard ones. I had been fit checking it, making the necessary cutouts, etc. It hasn't been installed yet. The carpeting was replaced after I got the car. The rear seats are out because I was going to do a rear-seat delete. I have all of the original interior pieces. It has a new Alpine stereo with Bluetooth.

Carlos,

Here are some interior pictures. Shown are the pair of ABS plastic door panels; the right side OEM panel is removed, the left is original. I purchased a carpet kit. Some pieces are installed in the car, the uninstalled pieces are shown, as is the leather kit, which includes an additional half hide of leather to do miscellaneous parts. The rear seats are out of the car but are included; the leather kit has the pieces for those, or you can do a rear seat delete. The door armrests have the steel reinforced aftermarket supports. The original steering wheel is included. Not shown but included with the sale are .pdf files of the Factory Service Manuals (about 9 volumes, approximately 2000 pages) and the 1982 Parts Catalog.

If you have any questions, please reach out.

Cheers,

Rick
