2021 sent a Aluminium one i made to Roger for test fit , he never came back with any comment ,think i made it a little to tall .fitted one on my LHD 928 but it was a tight fit but they are a fiddle fit any way .

That's correct just like 928 Motorsports made them , but if you have a working low level sender no problem, that was a prototype .going to fit sight level tube :eyepop:

A sight-level tube is a must have.

I have a client 928 in the shop that suffered a “catastrophic transaxle event” because the owner (and ‘technicians’ prior to me) didn’t bother to check and never saw the motor oil mixing with coolant.

I will never fit an opaque expansion tank.

Well blow me down just admit that you have a problem with me , yes it's me who made the oil neck baffle with louvers on top so that any one who did not have the Porsche plastic one , have you bought a Stainless Steel "Y" for the charcoal canister from Roger they are made by me . As for the opaque shite many vehicles have opaque header tanks so blow me down again "check water level regularly"

I assumed that the last part would have been logically self-evident and it was an attempt to let bygones be bygones.

I might have even considered fitting one of yours so-equipped.

Dude, I made the stainless Y-connectors 25 years ago. Sold a couple hundred of them. It became not worth my time and I posted the CAD drawing.

Being aluminum, I had considered brutalizing Carl's version to look like this ...... with a sightglass
I once saw a Land Rover (a variation, not sure which one) that had an updated off-road SS tank with a sightglass.

Interesting Jaguar worm hole this week for me.
Intermittent low coolant warning, but coolant not low.
The sensor uses a float, and of course, the float is attached to the fill tank not the sensor. Which requires replacing tank. That’s cool.
And yes Worf, I can see through the tank :kickbutt:

Potdog,

Your reservoir is a much better looking specimen than any others produced before. The MotorSports one that Carl was selling was butt ugly and I would never have installed it any car I owned. I do concur that it needs a visible coolant level/sight level, though.

Any competent machinist can turn one for you on a lathe a lot faster than you can find one pre-built. Just give him the dimensions you need.

my new one from 2019 leaked since day 1. I'm working on producing a really nice one with a flush sigh glass. Should have them into production by years end, and they will be much nicer looking than stock and carl's wont even come close to compare. It will be curved like the factory ones, and only have one seam around the middle.

A couple of months ago, I tested the new Porsche expansion tank before installing it.

It did leak...

... from the 35-year old gasket for the level sender that was transferred from the old tank.

I replaced the gasket with a Viton o-ring (since the gasket has no part number and is not available from every-day sources) and...

NO LEAK. Held pressure for hours.

Motor's not in the engine bay yet. So, the tank may develop a leak, but it doesn’t leak out-of-the-box.

My tank circa 2019 has started to weep at the joint between the metal neck and the plastic tank. Hopefully the latest stock of tanks has solved that issue.
