Not really Cars and Driving, but I'll put it here anyway. Hope it gives you a chuckle.
I was looking for some replacement OEM carpet floor mats for the Jag XK. Mine are the plain mats and I wanted the optional OEM mats that have the Jaguar logo and script embossed in the mats. I found two on FleaBay and saved both listings. Often when one saves a listing, the seller contacts you with a small discounted offer to entice you to buy. One of the sellers did that (offering about $10 off the $208 list price). The other seller did not. The one that did was priced a little higher, so I sent a message to the other seller and asked if he would offer a discount like other sellers sometimes do. His response was simply "NO". I replied and thanked him and said I would buy elsewhere. Here's the reply to my message:
You, sir, are the bold representation of everything wrong with the Jaguar community. Demanding a discount because you clicked on an ad? How ludicrous is that? You are correct, you'll need to buy them somewhere else since you can't afford our floor mats for your 10-year-old jalopy. Perhaps Pep Boys may have some generic ones that fit, or if you're lucky, you might be able to up your budget to get ones with Yosemite Sam and a footprint gas pedal cover. Somehow, I think that would suit your car perfectly. Because if you're this stingy with floor mats, I can only imagine the garbage heap you've turned your car into trying to save pennies. Why don't you do the Jaguar community a real favor and sell your junk wagon to someone who can actually maintain it?

I purchased the ones from the seller that offered the discount. I wish I hadn't pulled the trigger so quickly. I never even thought of buying new mats with Yosemite Sam on them for my garbage heap, junk wagon jalopy. Those would be great.
