picture is from the under side of the battery box lid.
did Porsche put the 4mm thick black rubber on there or was it just a previous careful owner?
just never seen it on another one

I've got 2 89s and neither of mine have that. I vote PO installed

thanks for the confirmation, it does look like original material, but when i removed it, it was just held on with small pieces of double sided tape, so was just the doing of a careful previous owner.
