Supposedly the car is otherwise is in great shape.
Anyone have any experience as to how to not lose all the value.
@XR4Tim What would a used Mini engine insaltall typically cost?

Looked at car-part and Ebay, but 2012 sees to be a split model year, so i need to do more research after I get my hands on thr car.
The owner is not as technical as he thinks he is.

My guess is that the whole assembly would drop out the bottom with the subframe. I did a clutch on a friend's 2002 Cooper S once, and it was a challenge (without a transmission jack, and without dropping the subframe). Thanks

I also did bushings power steering hoses, and other things. It became a slippery slope. Of course anytime I had to work on that thing you had to put it into service mode which included pulling the nose forward a few inches.
