Yeah, moron didn’t straighten his wheels.
Otherwise a good job at parking, just a bit too far from the curb.

I took this pic of my then DD Audi S5 in October 2020, there is a wall in the front… it took a while but it’s doable.

Hope that Audi was an auto. Working that clutch in that situation must be maddening.

I would have prefered a manual in that situation but it was DCT which had a slight delay between shifts from R to D and vice versa that bugged the f out of me.

Getting out is as simple as reversing over the curb enough to pull out around the other car.

There is a pole in the back. You need some oomph to jump the curb as you have no distance to gain speed. Then you need to make sure the momentum doesn't carry the car into the pole. If you did that, then there may be room in front to drive out. Or you have to repeat the process until you do.

Can be done, but quite tricky/risky.

The pole is miles away.

My observations from Europe is that there's a lot of "park by braille" happening, and many vehicles have scuffed up bumpers.

Only in big cities where parking space is really at a premium with worst offenders being southern nations - Spain, France, Italy, Greece as they usually DGAF (it’s in their nature).

Many of my friends in Germany lament that their world really changed for the worse when the EU formed, driving in particular. I saw the same thing. Pre-EU, autobahn //// was 150mph, strict lane discipline, safe high speed travel. Post-EU, the southern countires, gypsies and illegals are in Germany driving 40mph in the left lane and wandering from lane to lane randomly pulling caravans. Worse, they will pull into your lane 50 feet ahead when there is a 100mph speed difference...

Yep. The stardards for driver’s licenses worsen as you drive south…

Pre EU, there were waaaaaay less cars driving on the autobahns, purely because there were less cars registered - anywhere.

As for small cars pulling caravan trailers, ask your German friends if they remember what NL stands for on a trailer. (The running joke was it means Nur Links, left only, as they always drove at max 100kph in the left lane).

That also happened when the Germanys were unified.

I lived outside of Frankfurt during that time and I remember the Trabbies just puttering along in the left lane causing near misses with cars used to driving balls-out.

I guess that calmed down for a bit but now it's happening all over again.

Those are pretty good spots but it kinda bothers me that the owners didn’t maximize the distance away from the other spots.

Am I the only guy that parks wonky in garages so that as much of my car is away from others as possible? If that were my Porsche I’d have been an inch from the pillar on the driver’s side while still being able to get out of the car.

I usually tell wifey & kid to get out and I like to hug a wall / pillar on the passenger side so I can get out without gymnastics in tight spots.

If you have a full time transfer case with low range, this maneuver is very easy.

That -^ and my Opa used to say "god damn NL'ders even bring their own potatos."

This referring to a belief that the caravanning NL'der tourists did nothing for the German economy.
