Very strange!

You would think introducing air into the entire engine bay would be just as effective. But I guess they figured just forcing air into the intake itself would be best..

This TechArt spoiler looks better and has functionality with the “blow holes” on either end piped directly to the air intake interface on the underside of the wing. How functional I have no idea, but it does add outside / cold air flow. That intake actually LOOKS like it was sourced at the Home Depot plumbing isle…
