87 + valve spring adjusting washers

many many ears ago i had a few spare heads from various S4 engines, so i stripped and cleaned them, ground the valves in fitted new VSOS etc covered them in lubricant, wrapped in cling film and stored them.
was now going to list them on ebay but then realized i did it before i knew there were different thickness of spring shim 94410546502 etc
in the real world, would it be a certainty or just a very slim chance to cause coil bind / break a spring ?

VSOS means valve seats were redone?

You assembled everything? And you “randomized” the spring seat shims?

Then yes, small chances of breakage of various types. Possibly lifter bounce.

Any good machine shop can source high-quality seat shims for far less than a Porsche price.

You could always go back through and do the required rework on the heads.

thanks Dave, VSOS valve stem oil seals.
back then i was used to doing 16v heads on Peugeots, which have the metal washer, but they were all the same thickness and not an actual shim.
will now keep the heads until i retire, will keep me busy redoing them then.
