Youtube, anyone else being required to sign in to prove they're not a "Bot"

Lately, I've not been able to watch youtube video's that were linked to threads here, but was able to go directly to youtube and watch videos.
Now I cannot watch anything on youtube without signing in to "prove I am not a Bot"
I don't want to sign in.
This also started about 30 days after I subscribed to Nordvpn, think there may be a connection?.
any help here will be appreciated.

Yes, it’s a VPN issue. VPN providers use exit nodes that are known and yt and many other service providers will make you jump thru multiple hoops to continue.
For them it seems that a fuckton of traffic is coming in from a specific subnet so the DOS protection protocol is enabled.

Thanks Lupo, But I can't even pretend what that all means, but what I have been able to find online resonates with what you stated concerning VPN.
I dug up an old email address, that allowed me to get in, didn't really want to do that, as I've never logged in to youtube before.

For me, some links do require login, some don't. I am using a VPN

Not giving a fuck is fine, but many links are or were on YouTube, as well as the music thread, lots of good stuff there, that was inaccessible at the time this thread was created.
