Does anyone have a vertical center grill support handy?

The ones on my ‘82 were replaced a while back but the center one has crumbled. I think it would be an easy piece to draw up and produce a 3D printed replacement out of ASA but mine is too broken up to take good measurements from. If anyone has a center one ( I can pull the left/right one off my car) that they could loan me so that I can get a good set of measurements, I would be happy to cover the cost of having you ship it to me. Afterwards, I’d be happy to start printing these for anyone that needs a set, as long as you can cover the cost of me shipping the new parts to you.

As long as the pieces are complete, it doesn’t matter if it’s broken and I can return yours when I am done.

I realize it’s not an expensive part but at $27 plus shipping each, it’s still at least $90 if you need to replace them. I’m guessing I would have less than $1 in material and the material should be a good bit more durable than what Porsche used to produce them.

Ping me if you are interested in helping out on this.

I bought a replacement set from Roger awhile ago.
What arrived was most definitely a 3D printed variant, so there must be a CAD file out there somewhere. Maybe worth a call to see what he knows or the price of what he has.
Mine have been misplaced in the flotsam of track car conversion.

When they were not available from Porsche, at least one person was 3D printing them. I want to say there is also another not-quite-stock-looking version that was also 3D printed. Back in 2021, Jerry Feather was thinking of making a more resilient version and some good ideas were floated (or attempted to float) in this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/1 ... -item.html.

(Edit: Ignore - I missed where you said you knew they were available!) I couldn't find the thread, I think from TOS, but these are now readily available from Porsche (middle one AND side ones) at a reasonable price (about $25 each).

Mine is broken on my 86.5, so I recently ordered one (928 International) and I believe it came straight from Porsche and NOT 3D printed:

Looks like it would be a fun 3D project however, and if the roads you travel break them often, it would be kind of cool to print one overnight for installation the next morning.... As long as your horizontal slats don't end up all over the road like mine did once upon a time!

There's one on thingiverse if you have access to a 3D printer

Good find, but it says "you need two" because left and right are the same. So, I'm thinking it is not a center one. The center one is longer than the left and right ones.
