Sorry guys - another Jag post. One of these days I'll do something to the 993 worthy of posting, but it's just the way I want it, so I haven't done anything to it for years. I did take it to the Red Brick Reunion in Oxford, OH this past weekend. Fantastic Porsche-only show with hundreds of Porsches.

Back to the Jag. I found and bought an XKR muffler (mine is just a regular XK) used as Jaguar doesn't make them anymore and replaced the stock muffler. The difference is the XK muffler is a dual outlet muffler, the XKR has quad outlets. And the sound is much throatier with the XKR muffler. Fairly quiet with normal driving but makes some noise when you step on it. Sound is not at all like the Ferrari or the Porsche. Very muscle car-like. I think I'm done with mods on the Jag - brake upgrade, muffler upgrade, logo floormats, and XKR chrome side finder vents.

Agreed!

I do prefer the quad-tips as well, looks much more purposeful!

I actually prefered the appearance of the dual exhaust vs. the quad tips. But to get the XKR sound, well......you do what ya gotta do.

I just have a thing for the quad-tips ever since I saw a 996 C4S with them back in 2004. It was such a cool differentiator from the other 996s that it always stuck out in my mind.

Speaking of muffler upgrades, was behind an Audi RS Q8 yesterday and he opened up on the highway to pass some slow traffic...wow!

I had the windows up and radio on in the Cayman and still heard that exhaust like if it was in my face. I was a bit impressed.
