Solenoid screws

Hi guys and gals:
Ever since I bought my 88 S4, one time out of 15 starts(approx), I get a screeching sound out of the starter. I did a coolant change and while in there, I checked the starter, to find the solenoid loose. I took out the starter, to find only one screw, and it was loose. I did not have the courage to take out the screw, to find the size of it. I had no idea, if the solenoid would come apart, and leave me with 4 pieces in my hand, and a set of brushes. So, I tightened it up, and was wondering if someone knows the screw size. I checked the WSM’s but that did not help.
Thanks for any help. Oh yeah, no more screeching now.
Another day under the car......
Don

Thanks so much, Phil. I left my belly pans off, but refastened everything back up, as I didn’t know how long it would take to find the screw. I should just go check out a starter/alternator rebuild shop.
All the best, and carry on with your incredible restoration.
