Did any of you guys see the Tweet from Mercedes to Max about him testing a Merc car? All he has to do is say he wants to. lol
Oh, the Sky Sports pre-race show is always fun to watch. I was busting up laughing when they had the 4 youngins on a zoom meeting answering questions. I think Russel really hates the fact he's not scored a single point.
Didn't see the tweet, but did see that Max said that anyone on the grid could win races in the Mercedes. Then I saw a Q&A with Hamilton and Max before the race a couple weeks ago and Max said he'd love to swap cars with Lewis to see what would happen. Hamilton brushed it off, but I think Max is getting under Lewis' skin with all the comments and insinuations that the car is clearly the best in F1 history and basically diminishing Lewis' accomplishments.
IMO, besides being the World Champion of D bags, Hamilton is incredibly consistent and knows how to manage a set of tires. Beyond that, he's also incredibly overrated. He's always had the best car with the exception of the 4 years of Vettel/RBR dominance and there is where he finished 4th on 3 occasions and 5th on another, but yet, Jenson finished 2nd just behind Vettel, so technically, the McLaren was competitive, but not the best.
Personally, I think Max has matured so much in the 5 years he's been in F1 and done so much with not the best package (winning 9 races and countless podiums) in a car that's been 5th fastest behind the Merc's and Ferrari's until this season, that if given the chance in the Mercedes, he'd be virtually unstoppable.
