Listen to the contrast between the two reviews. Yes I know they're years apart but listen to the monotone, fact-based review of the K-car:

Now listen to the emotion-driven and much happier review of the 992:

Just cracked me up as you can absolutely tell quite the difference between their thoughts on the two cars.

That's like comparing a crack ho to one of Hugh's wives.

Ah, yes.......Motorweek. The only car program that makes cars look boring.

The car show for people that don't like cars.

I mentioned previously how I never learned a single thing from the Goss's Garage segment.

Not previously mentioned - I worked as a suspension engineer and have a significant history in vehicle dynamics (professionally and as a hobby racer). A co-worker was talking about looking for a new job. I told him he could be the test driver at MotorWeek. We had a good laugh.

My parents used to have a subscription to Consumer Reports years ago when I was a teen.

I remember reading their car reviews and it was also hilarious because absolutely no emotion or attempt to paint an image in the mind of the reader. It read like if a robot wrote it.

The reviews for performance cars read something like, "acceleration is brisk with the ability to pass slower traffic" - yeah no kidding!

John Davis has lost 5,000 pounds over the years and gained it all back multiple times over. Remember the big-haired dolled-up broad on Motorweek who reported the trade news? Was her name Dana Barrow? I dont know why that name is coming to me.

Remember when they would test out 1987 Honda Accords and some guy in a pair of Bike softball shorts, a Garanimal shirt, gold aviator glasses, and a porn stache would jump in the front seat and start yanking on all the switches, seat levers, knobs, adjusters, and releases like he was putting the car through a 60-second torture test? Then he'd jump in the back seat, buckle up, and fuck with the ashtrays and armrest like he was gonna be back there for 6 weeks for R&R? I do. For some reason I always found it funny and unforgettable.

yes it was indeed one of the duller car shows, but for so many years, there weren't so many to choose from, so I watched it and enjoyed it.

Back in the day when we could still watch PBS (pre-commie/woke era) without throwing up in our mouths a little, Motorweek was a regular part of our Sunday mornings.
We still joke to this day about Pat Goss in his Goss' Garage segment where his answer to most repairs was to 1st yank the engine :bigcry:

You make it seem; that's not the first step.

Right, but he was all like 'to replace the coolant temp sensor'....1st yank the engine.

Kinda like having to pull the dang front end off an Audi to swap an accessory belt :kickbutt:
