Classic9 Leather Shop https://www.classic9leathershop.com/928 ... er/928?p=1. (Edit: I sourced and provided the material myself from Germany, though Classic9 said I pretty much ended up with what they could provide, but my leather was thicker and harder to work with. These were the Sport Seats I bought from Stan (MrMerlin) back in 2017. I have personally transported these seats twice from the great white north down to swampy Florida.)

I picked everything up in May/June this year but the car has been in the shop and is due out soon (another story for another thread).

These very wide rear tires (335x35) for my Strosek cars are expensive, hard to get and wear out in a short time.

Waiting for Han’s shifter kit to be installed. It will not happen till spring, now, as my car is tucked away, but, I am longing for that rifle bolt action. I love everything else about this car, and this is(was) the only thing that stopped it from being perfect.

Indeed, it is!

I told myself that if another one leaked on me, I would do a proper conversion to manual. I had it done by The Machine Shop in Colorado, which do the proper conversions for 944's. Though he said it was quite the bitch to do and he would charge a lot more for the next one. I was surprised that I got my original back and am still not sure how he did it, other than I know he sourced some very early Jaguar bits.

And on another note: No reason to buy new compressor hoses from Porsche.

This is the fall of 1986 when I had acquired my first 928 Strosek. I still have the car but it is not driveable at the moment. My father was a bit hesitant about such an expensive and strange looking car. He said is this something you really want, wouldn't it be better to keep the money in the bank?

Thanks! I've been working on it as time allows for nearly a year now. It's the cleanest it's been in my 16 years of ownership. Inside, outside, and underneath. I machine polished with Griot's BOSS Correcting Cream then topped it with 2-3 coats of C.Quartz. This was my first experience with ceramic and I'm very pleased with the results. This car has approximately 105k miles on it, so the nose cap and lower body cladding have a fair amount of road rash. The ceramic did a great job of filling/leveling a good percentage of the rash as well as restoring the color - it was like it took tens of thousands of miles off the finish.

Stickers. I ordered a crate of the various 928 stickers from the Polacks and sent them pictures and measurements for the air pump stickers. I think I ordered 10. They'll probably never sell any more of them. But, they can if anyone wants them.

https://www.carbone.pl/technical-external-stickers/

They aren't on their website, so one would need to inquire specifically.

h2pmr wrote: Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:45 am ... or did you just buy a new pump?
LoL. Seriously?

The only misleading thing about my above post is that the first pump pictured was not the same pump as shown in the 'restored' pictures. The parts for the restored pump have been sitting in a box for months waiting until I had several to do all at once. That first dipped-in-dirt pump was just cleaned up and rebuilt.
