anybody know what it is or what it does?
from a pile of wiring looms from 87- 91 928's i have been sorting through.

I believe it's a connector, there's a two way one on the early cars for one of the switches on the A/C desiccator. Presumably it wasn't connecting the fog lamp wire to a ground wire when it was on the car?

Yup. A connector and yup associated with the A/C on pre-‘87.

Somebody decided to bypass a switch or something. I don’t have the pre-‘87 AC memorized…

thanks Gent's, i have no idea where on the car it came from as it was in a box of wiring loom connectors i was hunting through looking for another specific connector, which i couldn't find, but that's another story.
