I took a look at the material properties of the 4130 and 4340 steels - as I previously mentioned, the Modulus of Elasticity is the same for both (29.7 million psi), so both shafts would be equally stiff. The 4340 is significantly stronger, with the 4130 shaft breaking before the 4340 even starts to yield (permanently deform).
