The barrel connectors are. Coming apart in a lot of cars. I found a triple sealed 6 pin twist lock connector that will fit inside the barrel connector clamp out of sight for those that are looking for a good quality connector.

Connectors are about $8 each side
Pins are about $1 each for good quality gold pins.
Total cost is about $30 per connector .

They are pretty nice pieces and Iā€™m using them in a couple of places for my new ECU installation.

They are available @ mouser.com

Nice!

The deterioration of the connectors on the ABS/BPW/RDK harness is going to become a pandemic in this coming decade.

It kinda sucks though that one has to modify 2 or 3 senders in the wells and 2 or 3 connectors at the other end for each wheel well to make any alternative connector work.

But, it is what it is.

I'm tempted to make my own ABS harnesses, and modify the ABS sensors and the brake pad sensors to these. When it's time to replace a brake pad sensor just de pin and re pin the new one.

Two companies are working on making new connectors and complete ABS harnesses. Soon we will have replacements. The hardest part was the connector.
