For anyone installing either alternative engine management or a data acquisition system on a 928, you may find these two custom products handy. I was not able to find anything available on the market, so made my own.

P9-OC05: Oil sandwich adapter with 1/8NPT and a proper Bosch spec M10-1.5 port for use with their compact pressure/temperature combination sensor (as shown). The Bosch PST-F1 sensor is one of the most reliable and compact sensors available, but there have been no native port components, so an adapters must be used adding to length and defeating the compact nature, as well as introducing more opportunity for leaks. The adapter will come with a 1/8NPT plug. The sandwich can be oriented in any directions, so its very easy to fit, even with headers. Designed to be universal in nature, but 928 focused, it is slightly smaller in diameter than the factory filter, so no modification is required for install.

P9-FF01: Hardline fuel adapter from M16-1.5 to -6ORB with integrated Bosch M10-1.5 sensor port. Finding correct adapters for the factory fuel delivery hardline on the passenger fender is difficult, only two sources that I am aware of make them with the correct sealing geometry on the bottom. Before now, none have been available with a female -6ORB port or with an included sensor port. This remove the need for additional inline adapters, and gives an accurate location for checking fuel temperature and pressure. It also locates the sensor under the crossbrace, where it is both hidden and protected. Continuing to use the Bosch PST-F1 sensor allows for calibration standardization. Even if only using the pressure component, these sensors are very cost effective compared to other options, and offer a true sealing seat as opposed to NPT sealing threads. The ORB port allows for direct hose end attachments, or any number of male adapter fittings. For new PTFE pluming systems or aftermarket ECU install, you will not find a better overall value when considering the number of adapters required to convert and get a fuel pressure sensor in the correct location.

That was totally and unequivocally 100% Greek to me with a couple of mechanical engineering terms to spice it up! Thank God we have Hans to figure this crap out for us!

The list of bits continues. We now have the following bits:

Low profile ethanol content sensor holder that fits the smog valve bracket

AIT sensor bung for the stock 87+ throttle boot

TPS adapter for 87+ throttle

Compact TMAP adapter for using any range TMAP in a remote configuration (stainless bracket to mount to 87+ manifold available) - NOTE temp functionality is not used in remote installs, but the pressure sensor inside is more accurate that most, and fully documented in all ranges.

Seals to hold the VAG 2.0T coils in the 87+ valve covers

Bracket to hold the MaxxECU Race unit in the stock location in 85+ cars

Replacement W and V connectors for plug-in harnesses

Offset brackets to hold Project Nine damper rails to a stock 87+ manifold

XRP HS-79 hose set for Project Nine damper rails on a stock 87+ manifold with Ethanol content sensor

Quick connect adapter fitting for fuel cooler on pre-88 cars.

Distributor delete with front-mounted cam position sensor

I have two other 3/8" QD adapter fittings coming of the lathe shortly - for the 88+ fuel coolers, and one to convert the hard line under the 14-pin connector.

I have a pile of other stuff I am not thinking of right now, like the low-profile oil filler... will get some installed pictures up soon. Hoping to fire up a car on the new harness (not available for sale at this time) later in the month.

Fred,

Its a housing for remotely mounting the Bosch TMAP sensors. There is passthrough for the vacuum reference to the fuel pressure regulator so both the engine management and fuel system use the same vacuum source. The temperature portion of the sensor is not used, but the TMAP format has several pressure ranges, is fully documented with spec sheets, and is one of the fastest and most accurate pressure sensors commonly available.

It was designed to be as compact as possible and have many different mounting options. I mount it on the rear of the driver intake side cover on the 87+ cars, and a short hose connects the second port to the fuel pressure regulator. Here are two pictures from the model so you can see my install location and the bracket for it. Bottom port goes to a nipple on the factory throttle, and the rear facing nipple goes to the fuel pressure regulator installed in the rear port of the driver fuel rail.

Everything is so sexy! They are very similar to the ones we have been using on our 20V Audi’s.

Here is the latest fitting addition. The second of three M16-1.5 to 3/8 SAE quick disconnect fittings. These will make install/removal of the return fuel hoses super easy.

Hans - great work as always. My question is why would I want this set up? What problem are you solving for? TIA

Ed- it allows use of the SAE 3/8" style quick connect fittings. Such as the NormaQuick crimp-on or any aftermarket fitting like the affordable line of Racetronix QD fittings:

https://www.racetronix.biz/c/adapters-b ... n-jic/c258

The new QD style fittings attach and remove without tools, and seal radially with a pair of o-rings, so the fittings can freely rotate on the male attachment. After proper installation of the adapter, any future requirements for removing the line is done quickly and easily without the need for tools or torquing. It makes it easier to use with modern fuel line materials as well, such as the XRP HS-79 CSM or ProPlus with PTFE liners (lifetime hoses that are impervious to all known fuels).

It's not restoration equipment, but its highly useful for restomod or performance applications. Imagine never having to get back there and deal with the fiddly connection to the fuel cooler fitting that always wants to round out. Just install the adapter fitting and the line clicks and removes with a single hand.

Hans,
Are these possibly the same fitting threads that the early cars used at the pressure accumulator and fuel filter area?

If so, I'm going to be in touch, as I'm eliminating the accumulator, filter, and the secondary pump in the process of the engine swap I'm doing.
This would make for a cleaner transition from the new fuel lines to the existing hard lines going forward under the car.

I cant be sure. I don't have any early cars. I am fairly confided that M16-1.5 is the only fuel fitting standard I have seen on a 928, but I would want to check, or just have you measure with a set of calipers the outside diameter and pitch of the threads. I know that 83+ for sure should work in any application, but earlier than that I would need to verify with dimensions.

I'll have to take a look then.

Thanks for the new go fast bits, and for being willing to think outside the "Porsche can do no wrong! Everything is perfect as originally designed!" box.
