Tape on upper rear quarter glass.

Just cleaning the old sealant off the rear quarter glass...
What was the purpose of the tape. Almost a fabric like tape, in the upper edge of the rear quarter panel glass.

How certain are you that the 1/4 glass was never out before you took it out. Body shops do weird shit...

There should be no sealant or tape on the rear quarter windows.

Yeah. Every time I’ve found anything other than gasket and glass I could trace it to somebody trying to not buy a new seal: e.g. body shop.

Door seals are the one that chap my ass. I've had to replace so many of them that some dipshit thought it was a good idea to smother glue to hold them in place. I'm at the point that I will inspect a car before I work on it and decide beforehand if I want to put my hands on it.
