I talked to Jeannie yesterday.

What’s your mode of ‘reaching out’ that has been unsuccessful?

What's yours that has? I like to spread the 928 "love" around a little bit, but I find them generally hard to get a hold of. I usually call, and leave messages. Not always returnd, and not returned quickly. I love Dave and Jeannie, but it is a different operation than it was years ago. I still keep their number though.

I didn't even know they were still in the business of selling 928 parts to be honest. Last I heard it was all drop ship from them. I like the two of them, I really do. I suppose being a Roger fanboi has corrupted me and always know I'm getting the best prices from him that I've not considered going anywhere but him and 928 International.

All of our favorite 928 parts suppliers have proclivities that are uniquely their own. Make of that what you will. I will, however, bias your musings by noting that proclivities can be good or bad.

What I have noted, from my own experience and from talking with other folks, is that in this day and age it's seemingly more difficult to get in touch with folks reliably:

-an increasing tendency in the "smart phone age" for folks to call, not get an answer, and then hang up without leaving a message. I know someone called. I don't know who because I don't recognize the number, caller ID is blocked, or the caller ID is not a name I recognize instantly. This, usually, in the case of 'legitimate' calls is because caller ID isn't the person's handle on some forum. But, since it's so easy to spoof caller ID, there are times when I don't answer a call because the ID and number don't match my memory. Most of the time no message is left. 19 out of 20 calls are spam. So. Now what?

- on the subject of spam and email. I get email on three different accounts and two different mail user interfaces. I've moved to this 'mechanism' in an attempt to not miss email. Why? When 99 out of 100 emails are spam it's increasingly difficult and time consuming to pick legitimate emails from the noise whether it be from the inbox or the spam filter box.

I hear that. I generally have my phones ringer off and check for messages at the end of the day. I hate talking on the phone anyway as it's usually a lengthy talk about mundane stuff to fill the voids of information that was needed to get across that a text message could have been sent.

I usually refer customers who call to send me an email so I have somewhat of a paper trail anyway because there is a high chance that once the phone is put down I'll forget anyway.

Are you a one man shop like me and Sean or do you have some staff that can run interference?

Cancer Cat stopped eating much for a few days. But, it turned out it was just a food quality protest. All of a sudden the Pâté style is unacceptable.

Just figured you'd want to know that  :roflmao:

In other news, ever run across a young male, but neutered cat, that self-fellated, and couldn't stop humping anything furry or female (regardless of species.)

Same here. It's also good to be able to remind the client of what *they* forgot.

No phone in the shop here. If I'm in the middle of turning head bolts I do not want to be distracted. Ever.

As of a few months ago, I put in WiFi, but only so that I can more-easily look up parts stuff.

I believe Chris connected with 928 specialists so I can probably officially run the thread into ruin by talking about cat humping right? ;)

So there’s 28 people, and I am the only one that’s male for starters.
Running interference means I have less call backs and they try their best.
Anyway, humping traditionally is about dominance. Trying to figure out where you fit in the pecking order. Dog are famous for it, but cats can do it as well.
It will probably get better if he’s new, and things settle in.

You guys want to feel better about yourselves?
I had to explain to a grown man what a vulva is today.
He brought his female dog in for “check rear end, possible wound”

I feel sorry for his wife.

I had actually forgot that I placed an order on their site in September (stereo fader knob). My card never got charged so I never thought much more of it. Their site still says order pending. I wondered if they were closed too.

Did you call? When I see something I ordered on line - independent of vendor - get stuck I reach out. I had batteries for my drill 'get stuck' from some internet-found vendor. When I poked them in the e-mail eye, I got batteries in a week.

Same thing with a crate of gloves, although that was a Covid PPE thing, but after reaching out the vendor found alternative.

Now... on to important matters:

There. That's your problem. Not the old cat ladies. Holy Estrogen Overload Bat-Crumpler.

So, he - the sex maniac cat - was isolated from the other cat. And did this stuff when he was by himself (and when we were around.)

CarChick grew up on an animal farm. She's no stranger to strange animal behavior. However she draws the line at animals repeatedly trying to hump her. Lucky for him she's of Irish-German descent rather than Asian (*)...

Cat had to go back to the shelter.
