Wow....this went from around $4k with five hours to go...to selling for almost $13k.
For that?
Thats retarded. Buy a scuttled engine block, heads and intake for $800, six cans of krylon for $70~ and a slab-o-glass for $80. Done.
A fool and his money are soon parted.

I mean if it came from a AMX . . .

Not sure to be honest, for some reason I think it is a 304 is the number that sounds right from the prior owner. Got a couple VR6's that I was thinking of turning into end tables.

Now that's really cool. My very first vehicle of any kind was a similar year Honda 305 Scrambler (CB77), which is this bike with a slightly different tank and exhaust pipe scheme. It had a great sound and looked cool. Never knew SMcQ had one too.

I would so love to have that. My first "vehicle" (at 15 1/2 with a learners permit I could ride a motorcycle with, but no car without an adult), was identical to that except mine was a '64. McQueen lived up the street from me (on Solar Drive, in case you wonder where the name of his production company came from). He may have moved by 1965. But for quite a few years, he would always stop and say hi and let me ogle his cars - I suspect he saw the "car guy" in me.

We had a 1968 VW Doublecab pickup back in the 1980's.
It was nowhere near as nice as this one, but although s l o w it was a fun vehicle to bomb around in.

Whomever got that is driving around in a unicorn. I cant imagine PCNA sold more than 10-15. I have a feeling Porsche of Tucson spec'd it themselves as its a $47K Cayenne with $24K in options. It would not arrive in conventional random allocation, and soccer moms would never spec a manual.

This little beauty looks exactly like the one my future wife rolled & totaled the year before I met her. Hers was a 75 and had a manual transmission & cloth interior, but was otherwise the same little shitbox. That banged up little blue box sat in my father in law's shop at the farm as long as I can remember and was useful for scavenging parts, as we had 2 or 3 other Chevy Chevettes/Pontiac Acadians in our early years together. Good memories but terrible little cars. Not worth $6,500.

From my username you guys have probably surmised that I'm a fan of mid-engined Hondas, and the S2000 is no exception.
We've had a first-year ('2000) S2000 for many years, and if I had to pick the best year version to keep it would be a 2003.
Reasons being it still retains the 2.0L 9,000 rpm engine, has a few nice interior upgrades and also has a glass rear window.
This one on BaT has a hard top as well which would be great for track use, but S2000's really excel at blasting around on sunny days with the top dropped;

The amount of cars flooding into BaT lately is staggering. People are wetting their pants and unloading. I've noticed quite a few flips that are selling for $10-20k less than what they bought it for on BaT, paid the buyers premium, sticking it on a truck, change the oil and flipperoo. These are for cars that a reasonable amount of cars were built not rarities (E class and above AMG's). Of course there are plenty of AMGTards who think that 10k cars a model year is a small amount. 993/964's are still holding reasonably tight valuation wise. Boxsters/Caymans/Cayennes/Secondary Ferrari's (308-Mondial-456) are getting pummeled relative to 10 months ago. Three years ago you could pick up a 2000-02 Boxster with a few niggles for $8k, early last year they were $20k, now $10-12k~. Crazy...
Wait four-five more months. I cannot time this shit like anything else. However, the used car sale cycle is decidedly predictable.

I've wanted one of these for a while, back when $10k would get you a really nice one. I'm having a hard time swallowing the current prices.

^^ If you had posted the 'more money than sense" comment it would have been flagged as not-constructive. Back when there were the two identical McLaren (or was it Merc?) F1 bodied go-karts that sold in the $40k range, I posted a comment about "a fool and his money are soon parted". It got flagged as not-constructive. Then the winning bidder (nuvolari612) commented I was one of those people that other people like to avoid. That comment wasn't flagged.
Typical BAT double standard.
If you're a regular buyer of big ticket items and pay their commission, you can get away with making derogatory comments.
