They had another that sold for $96,500 earlier this year. Very cool but you must have play money.

The last RS200 Evolution sold on BaT went for over $500K.
The RS200 didn't meet Reserve at $420K. Reflection of a changing market? Or just not the right bidders chasing it?

Both. Only certain cars, the really special ones, are immune to the market roils. Plus you need buyers in the room.

^^That Porsche store is ~40 minutes from me
Rarely get there as I don't own a Porsche anymore, but when they replaced the old Brumos dealership with this shiny new one I stopped by and saw that 935 sitting on the showroom floor.
Def got my attention. Love the Ongais theme

So Porsche took 77 991 GT2's and made them into 935 'tribute' cars?

Wow, this was news to me as well

Were they all the same livery as shown, or were they different?

There isn't a Sotheby's thread, so I'll just stick this here.

A Ferrari SF90 press car is up for auction there.

This car has been on track for press coverage and time trials, never in a competitive setting and only by trained drivers.
Not interested at all, but I am curious to see what it'll sell for. It's been driven like hell, I'm sure. On the other hand, I've heard that Ferrari makes sure their press cars are even faster than their normal production cars.

Current bid: $245,000

That’s not wierd / funky, it’s just fugly ;)

Look for civic diesels in yerp, I think they might hit the 25yr mark soon. That would turn heads for sure in the US.

Edit: they ofc come with a 6sp manual

That Civic-based 4WD wagon isn't funky like our Acty microvan, but honestly with a 1.6L engine and an actual crumple zone it's realistically more usable.
A diesel would make sense as a daily driver, but at this point almost 30 years later they're just toys anyway.

I hear ya.

Look at this:

https://app.adjust.com/10r8c7lf_108xmz9 ... -copy_link

Final price: € 2,500.-
Mileage: 173,000 km
First registration: 11/2002

It’s still 3 years away from being able to import but would definitely be a huuuuge headturner at any C&C

This car has been at $375k for several days now, which is an amazing price for this vehicle. This just isn't the right time for me to even think about buying a new car. Plus this car has an optional lightweight Fiorano package which prevents you from adding the front axle lift system, which would be a necessity in Alaska. Still, it's such a beautiful car...

I have this one on my watchlist as I would LOVE to change the interior of my cabrio to be a natural brown.

But it's already at almost $4k, what do you guys think this is realistically worth?

What's it worth to you?.....I think north of 4k is out of range. I feel it's worth about 3500, max. However, there's an ass for every seat, someone will bite.

Kinda depend if you have to ship it as well, or you can pick it up.

If you can go pick it up its probably worth 4 - 5 K, assuming all the clips weren't busted when they removed the stuff.
Shipping that pile will be a decent chunk of change.

Buying all those parts, bit by bit, including shipping is probably a lot more than 6K, and not to mention worrying about damage. And then add all time it would take to get them all

If that color change is worth it to you I think there is alot of value in finding the complete set if you can go pick it up or get it all shipped as one package.

In my mind I was willing to participate up to $2k but now as I look at something like this I somewhat question my whole idea of reconditioning my cabrio given how much it's going to cost to rebuild an engine, repaint, redo the interior, new top, new suspension, etc. Might be cheaper just to buy a lower mileage 997 cabrio at that point. But unfortunately I get attached to things and since having this car for 15+ years makes it hard to let go even if it doesn't make financial sense.

It's only 90 minutes from me so my plan was to rent a uhaul trailer and bring it home that way.

But as I just mentioned above, I'm questioning my appetite for such a project.

My savannah beige was nice when it was newer, but now it's like a faded orange and I've always been a fan of natural brown. Unfortunately the auction ends in 3+ hours so I'm probably going to skip it since I'm not completely sold on my idea quite yet.

I actually talked myself into placing a couple of bids on this, but couldn't bring myself to place another one once I got outbid the second time. It shows, "Auction Ended," and the last bid was $585k. But it doesn't say, "Sold." I'm not sure how Sotheby's does things, so I don't know if the "winning" bidder actually got to buy this car or not. On bringatrailer.com, every SF90 that's been sold has gone for $700k or more.

Beautiful car but 3 auctions in a year ??!!
I'm seeing a lot of "alumni" auctions on BAT, and a lot of dealer-to-dealer flipping (the new Chandelier bids)

If you want to have some fun on BAT check out any Corvette C2 auction (stamp pad !!) or any Bill Noon/Symbolic Int'l auction

His pics look a lot like Jockey Hollow in Morristown.

I'm in Montclair and Spring Lake (mostly) when I'm in NJ and will be spending quite a bit of time there starting in March. We should do a "car thing" of some sort. I used to go on training rides (cycling) through your area all the time when I was a kid/young man. Grew up in Nutley and would ride over the hill in Montclair, then South Mountain Reservation, Great Swamp, Clinton Reservoir, Belvedere then back. Used to have family in Basking Ridge too. Back then it was truly the country and not easily accessible (I wouldn't call Rt 22 good access). It's remarkable how it's turned into a bedroom community of NYC.

This car brings back a ton of memories, as my mom had one which was the car I learned to drive in.
Hers was Cream colored with the same black vinyl C pillars and 440, but a black leather interior.
My dad kept a gas/service log on every car, and noted that while my mom averaged around 13mpg's.....but I only managed 9's :roflmao:

Good times!

Your question triggered a funny memory.
When my older (bossy redhead) sister was driving the New Yorker on her learner's permit, my mom was in the PS front seat and I was in the back.
It was too hot so I cracked the window, and my sister complained and closed it from her driver's seat window controller.
Oh hellz no, so I opened mine again and when she tried to close it I layed on the window switch to counteract her override.
Surprisingly no smoke was let out even after what was probably over a minute of 12V Mexican Standoff...but once mom intervened I had to relent.
Those window switches/wiring were hardy, and never stopped working all the years we had that car!
Also, the hubcaps were pretty grippy, but there were many times when (after a particularly awesome stunt I just performed) I had to circle back and recover 1 or 2
