It looks to me that Richard is retiring. Just blowing stuff out while the getting is good. Smart move and good for him.

Not BaT, yet. Get in while you can. $2,000,000 OBO

I know a car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, but I just don't get the lust for Singer 911s. They're essentially a immaculately constructed resto-mod that commands a stratospheric price. Actually, I get the lust, I just don't understand how they can get these prices.

One thing that did catch my eye was the Ed Pink Racing motor. My familiarity with that name goes back 50 years when they were building blown hemis for drag racing.

BaT has gotten retarded. For buyers that is. Cars consistently go for a 25-30% premium. Even suspect cars go for reasonable non suspect car prices. However, there were a few BMW 850i's that went at pretty reasonable prices. they were both drivers but well maintained. A bumper/hood respray, dry ice cleaning and a full service would easily have put them in the aforementioned "premium category".

I agree the BaT prices are almost turning into nothing more than cock-waving exercises to see who can show they have the most F-U money on the Internet. If these whales over pay by 30-50% its just a day's pay but they feel good about elevating their online status.

The other thing that drives me nuts on the site is the responses to the ads by the BaT groupies. They all act like every single car is being considered for the Pebble Beach Concours and know more about a particular vehicle than anyone else on the planet and want to make sure EVERYBODY knows about it. "Can you take a photo of the license plate screws on the rear bumper....they do not look like they are model-year correct as 2002 cars got philips screws and 2001 and prior cars got flathead screws. Thank you."

I like it. Current bid might be fair. I wouldn't expect it to go much higher - but I am constantly amazed at some of the final selling points.

First thing I noticed were the wheels. They are the wrong offset for an 86. Without spacers, they wouldn't fit. There are spacers listed on one of the receipts.

Those tires are too big. They will rub. Notice there are no shots of the front wheels pointed other than straight ahead. First turn, especially in jounce, and the inner fender liners will be torn out. The largest 'safe' size I have had experience with is 215/65R15.

It looks cool, but it's not serious - at least, with those tires. The skid plate looks good.

Or if perhaps your tastes run a bit more to the exotic, for a few dollars more there is this Porsche;

I always enjoys reading Wayne's comments/insights into 962's!

^Sold for an appropriate $962k. A local guy has one, but told me he doesn't race it anymore because the operating cost is so high compared to his other race cars. Kind of a shame, but I get it.

^^^^ Beat me to it. Not everyday that you find a motor home with ceramic tile in orange and yellow to complement the green vanity sinks. As horrifying as it is in many ways, it’s also super cool.

That thing I'd so 70's.

Looks like the same chassis as a horse trailer.

Would love to know the story.

The first new car I can remember our family having was my mom’s 1970 Maverick. Straight six with a three on the tree and no radio. It was as basic as they come, but that car always started and was the one that got used to boost other vehicles on the coldest of winter days. Maybe that’s why I like the Maverick’s styling and have always had a soft spot for them.

My dad had an MG but had to get rid of it as the kids grew up. He sold it and bought the Maverick. His was dark green, I remember it well.

I had a Honda NT650 Hawk which was based on the rc30. Same frame, single sided swing arm. People used to snatch those up and make them track bikes.
