Those (along with the AMC Eagle) were ubiquitous when my family moved to Alaska in 1990. I think they started to disappear when you could get a Dodge Caravan with AWD.

It really has no purpose other than as an attention getter, but it would be great at that.

I can't image running it in snow and having to dig it out after getting stuck. We do have alot of long stragiht highways around here that tend to stay covered in hardpacked snow and Ice at times. Wouldn't want to have to turn it, though.

Would be fun at grass drags, but would also be kind of embarrassing getting badly beating by conventional rocket ships sleds that run at those events.

This would be fun!

I'm lusting after this one. Green Euro 928S with a 5 speed and pascha interior. That's as good as it gets in my books.

Will be curious to see where the high bid ends up and if it meets reserve.

Something for everyone on BaT. Tons of comments on this, with nearly all of them getting lots of upvotes. People are enjoying this one.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/flint ... golf-cart/

As I’d commented in the listing, my wife frequently tells me (and anyone that will listen) that she married Fred Flintstone. And one of my regular golfing partners looks like Barney Rubble. She’s alway said we look like Fred and Barney when riding together in a golf cart. It would need more ground clearance to get through the snow up here, though.

More of a report than a find, since the auction has already ended.

Looks like 928s are finally bringing the money if you have the right one. This 5 speed GTS just sold for $232K.

That was a pretty fancy bike for that time.

Seller auctioned off 5 others on BaT. The most expensive was a white "Cotton Picker" that sold for $22,250, while a "Grey Ghost " one is closing in 13 minutes and is currently at $21K. The "Pea Picker sold for $11K.

Fuck me for Green being my second choice (they didn't make a blue one.)

I saved for a whole year to buy it for $112.

We bought it in Lancaster PA because our Schwinn dealer in Wilmington didn't have any.

I just sent my friend this link, but he likely already knows about these prices. He has 5-6 of these things in original mint condition (the one in the link has been repainted/restored and STILL brought that price).

I agree, 15 years ago when I went through my divorce I sold a complete set of Krate bikes (wish I would have kept the Cotton Picker and the custom Cotton Picker made from a Junior Sting Ray for my daughter) and a green Sting Ray surfboard for 5K......

I still have a '69 Lemon Peeler, a 63 (first year) Red original paint Sting Ray with dated parts, an original 65 Flamboyant Green Deluxe and a Blue 67 Slik Chik (the girls Sting Ray).

Holeeeeefuck. The original r5 turbo 2 was a monster that constantly wanted to kill you with every gas pedal movement.

A high revving turbo 13B in that chasis must be insane.

I owned all 3 generations of RX-7s. My '79 is still my favorite. Light and tossable. Just ignore the buzzer. The '86 was too GT. The '93 was insane. So naturally, I modded it to make it more insaner. Problem was, there was no where to let it really scream. But tons of fun.
Reluctantly sold it and it is now a dedicated track car with slicks, rollbar and trailered. Where it belongs.

I'll have to show this to my wife as she owned a Le Car – another under-powered, but oh so much fun to drive car.
