For anyone installing either alternative engine management or a data acquisition system on a 928, you may find these two custom products handy. I was not able to find anything available on the market, so made my own.
P9-OC05: Oil sandwich adapter with 1/8NPT and a proper Bosch spec M10-1.5 port for use with their compact pressure/temperature combination sensor (as shown). The Bosch PST-F1 sensor is one of the most reliable and compact sensors available, but there have been no native port components, so an adapters must be used adding to length and defeating the compact nature, as well as introducing more opportunity for leaks. The adapter will come with a 1/8NPT plug. The sandwich can be oriented in any directions, so its very easy to fit, even with headers. Designed to be universal in nature, but 928 focused, it is slightly smaller in diameter than the factory filter, so no modification is required for install.
P9-FF01: Hardline fuel adapter from M16-1.5 to -6ORB with integrated Bosch M10-1.5 sensor port. Finding correct adapters for the factory fuel delivery hardline on the passenger fender is difficult, only two sources that I am aware of make them with the correct sealing geometry on the bottom. Before now, none have been available with a female -6ORB port or with an included sensor port. This remove the need for additional inline adapters, and gives an accurate location for checking fuel temperature and pressure. It also locates the sensor under the crossbrace, where it is both hidden and protected. Continuing to use the Bosch PST-F1 sensor allows for calibration standardization. Even if only using the pressure component, these sensors are very cost effective compared to other options, and offer a true sealing seat as opposed to NPT sealing threads. The ORB port allows for direct hose end attachments, or any number of male adapter fittings. For new PTFE pluming systems or aftermarket ECU install, you will not find a better overall value when considering the number of adapters required to convert and get a fuel pressure sensor in the correct location.
