I have two intermittent wiper relays: 928 615 101 00 and 01. What is the difference?

My 86.5 has the 01 installed. The 00 is a part on my shelf. It appears 00 is compatible from 78-86, but the diagram on the sides of each suggests slightly different functionality.

Does anyone know if the 00 and 01 are interchangeable for an S3? If so, I will hang on to the 00 as a spare. If not, I'll put it up for grabs.

Thanks,
Matt

From what I can tell both are for '83-'86 (at least) and the 01 superseded the 00 a while ago.

From looking at the "diagrams" in each, I would expect them to function the same.

But, this is a case where my answer is worth what you're paying for it

Thanks, kind of what I thought, and your response is worth every cent I paid!

I guess the easiest thing to do is swap them and see. I'll try that this afternoon and report back.

I tested both relays in the car.

- 01 works as expected in my 86.5.
- 00 did not allow for adjusting the wiper interval via the potentiometer. I do not know why this is, or whether it is an issue with this individual relay, which is a used part.

Here is a picture of each, for anyone more inclined to understand the schematic than me.
