Have you ever been afraid to tow with your Cayenne? Spoke with Mr. Porsche Salesman yesterday and explained that I was interested in XX Cayenne because it has a tow package. He informed me that if I wanted a tow vehicle, I should get a pick up. WTF!!!!! :soapbox:

I guess it depends on what you want to tow. I know a number of people that tow their GT3’s to the track with Cayennes and thing they do great. So it’s good for that use case at least.

Yeah: pretty sure it's about max tow weight. IIRC Cayenne is (was?) 7500 pounds. Whereas with a ladder frame pickup sky's the limit until your wallet max-thickness is reached.

They really eat brake pads on the track though.

It tows like a champ. Whoever says otherwise is a retard. If you stay within the weight specs, it’s great. 955/957 were a bit better as they were heavier but it’s still great even nowadays.

My wife’s 2016 958 ehybrid has the electrically operated hidden tow hitch (unavailable in the US IIRC) and I didn’t tow anything super heavy (the ehybrid has a lower tow rating I think, never checked) but a polaris RZR on a car trailer worked as if there was nothing behind me.

Apparently, I need to call 1-800-RENT-A-STUD (who knows nothing about Porsches) and take said Stud clad in his white ankle socks and sandals with me when I go back on Saturday..................................

Not if you use the Armaco like a slot car.

True. But the Armco is way more expensive than pads and rotors.

In both cases my Cayenne acted as if nothing were attached to it. No issues towing either of these loads at all.
