For those that your interior 997 door handle does not fully return. The retaining spring section of the handle latch has broken. Porsche has updated the design which requires the later cables to also be changed over. However something I have discovered is the retaining plastic part can be used on either side, so in my case if the passenger side one breaks, I can use the old broken drivers side on the passenger side without having to change the cable out.

Nice. Updated style looks better.....had this issue on 997 before said update.

Yeah it looks better but the actual retaining part that breaks is no different between the two, if I get time I might machine some up out of aluminum so not to ever have the issue again.
