Answer: 928 Obsession, because I thought of that briefly, but, at a young 62, it was not the overriding thought....

Interior is coming together.
Image

Original interior had a mahogany dash, console, and the middle parts of the doors, but the center arm rest and the door handle and armrests were Caramel tan like the seats. When I got the 928 years back the seats and all the leather had been spray panted an off color tan... it looked horrible. I added the mahogany shifter, and did the steering wheel, center armrest and door armrests myself. Seats are 12 way comfort seats that were converted to sport seats. Original carpet was Cashmere colored and I redid it once and got dingy again really fast, so this carpet is Cork color from the 78-79 years.

Hi All

First post on Openroad!

My 8 year restoration project is pretty much complete and now doing first test drives. Car was sat for nearly 15 before that so it’s been a while since it saw the open road!

very impressive under bonnet install Ben, looks like new, and always nice to see hose clips aligned, the small details make the difference, or i am just sad to notice them.
hope to see it in the metal at some point.

Exactly. It’s a 928 picture thread not a bottom-post-5-picture-post-with-me-too thread.

For every post without a 928 picture there is a small probability that rodents will infest your 928 or an Agent of Internet Karma will sneak into your garage and do shit to your 928 without you knowing about it.

I've posted pics of the 12 way power sport seats that Porsche never made and here's a GTS leather hand brake in Mahogany which is impossible to find. Porsche never made them in Mahogany either

When you work on the brake master cylinder or when you flush your brakes (every two or three years) always be careful of fluid spills. Brake fluid and paint don’t mix.

Big deal?

Well, the brake fluid gets between the paint and rubberized coating and wicks. So…

My agreed value policy is up for renewal and they're hassling me over the amount. They'll go $80K, which I still think is on the low side, if I'll send them some updated pics. Well OK, if you insist... ;-)
