I'm noticing that the cover I've been using (generic) is beginning to tear and generally no longer does a good job keeping dust off my 928. In fact, it seems putting the cover on my clean 928 actually results in it getting a layer of dust because of the cover!

What covers are you using? Mine is always garaged, but it would be nice to have a well-fitting waterproof cover in case I ever need to park it outside temporarily.

Winter is coming!

probably no use to you on the other side of the pond, but i use the ones from classicadditions.com mine are just for indoor but the custom fit version is a perfect fit.

Right - because the cover itself is dirty. I deal with this by having a lightweight washable cover over the “real” cover.

So… any cover must NOT be waterproof. A proper cover must be ‘one way’; it can repel water on the top but must allow water vapor to escape from underneath.

If you buy a cover in the US, it is very, very likely that it was made by Covercraft regardless of the logo or from what entity you ordered it(*). CC has about a dozen different fabrics.

This is the weathershield I recommend for 'top' cover: https://www.covercraft.com/us/en/produc ... ver.C-CCHP

The "noah" cover I've used for "under" cover looks to have been supplanted by either this

or this

For indoor use I have form-fit covers and flannel covers (and use a weathershield over them 'cause the latter is washable when it needs it.)

I have more than a dozen covers.

(*) But, not the Porsche-brand covers. I don't know their origin. Never been impressed by them. None of those I've handled would I want for outdoor use: poor breathing and unwashable.
