I know must of us cringe at the thought of an EV, but they seem to be spreading across the automotive landscape. Even Ferrari wants a try at it. I present the Luce! Look at what all you get for a mere $600k!! :barf:

Meh . . . (not really a Ferrari guy), but since they make low production specialty sports cars, why not experiment some.

My guess is that even without Environmental/Governmental interference electric/hybrid power will be showing up in the top performing cars in the coming decades

This looks like the type of vehicle that would appear in a SciFi movie set in the future where all cars are shapeless and uninspiring blobs that are just considered transportation.

Now I get the experience behind the wheel might be a bit different but seriously this Ferrari is the ugly sister of the pack.

Below the really bad scale in my book. Hard pass, I'm pretty much done with "newer" cars.

It seems to me that in order to join the cult that is allowed to design/produce EVs that the first step is having your brains extracted, puréed in a blender and then poured back into your skull.

It is mind-boggling how anyone at Ferrari in a gatekeeper position allowed that squared off dildo abomination to wear the Prancing Horse.

I can’t say I’m much of a fan of the design language that Ferrari has taken on with their recent releases: 12Cylindri, Testarossa, even the 296. This disaster takes the cake though! I’m curious who the customers are for this car? No doubt they will become the gateway vehicle that Ferrari makes you buy before you can be allowed to buy the actual car you want, much like the GT4Lusso and the FF before that.

I am absofuckinglutely not a fan of that “design”.

BUUUUT

These cars are NOT aimed at ye olde farts. Not even me or other 40-50something notthatoldfarts. They are aimed at people like my neighbor, born in fucking 1996, selling retarded fucking collectible cards, who just bought a house for $1.1mil; also aimed at tech bros, influencers and crypto dudes.

So, relax, yell at clouds, tell the kids to gtfo off your front lawn, don’t forget to take your medicine, let anyone do what they want (including ferrari releasing an ugly ass vacuum cleaner) and enjoy life. :drunk:

My bestie in Belgium of many decades owned a Daytona and a 512 bbi. Masterpieces of form and function. Offered one Sunday morning to let me drive either. I declined, because I can easily replace my Porsche if he drove it and dinged it. He would have spent the rest of his life replacing his pristine examples. So I just enjoyed the ride.

Today, since he passed 5 years ago, his Sons maintain and drive them with pleasure.
After, his Widow sold the original 289 Cobra because, .... too many cars.

This thing is getting roasted in the media.

Ferrari did the "hold my beer" thing with Jaguar. :roflmao:

I do agree this isn't for the typical Ferrari buyer. But keep in mind that a brand can be brought down by having the wrong people buy it.

Bad example but let me continue - look at the Corvette. Tremendous value and performance yet from a reputational perspective it's for the New Balance and Jean Shorts crowd. So simply with that association some buyers won't even look at it. Now granted Ferrari has a much more exclusive brand but one generation of weenies buying it can easily change that.

Gotta hand it to Porsche and Audi as they created electric cars that still look pretty good and aren't trying to virtue signal that they're electric. The Taycan, eTron, and Macan all look like they still belong on Earth and not on your soap tray in the shower. Guess Ferrari didn't think to just make a 2+2 296 that was fully electric but instead reinvent the Citroen CX as electric.
