I think im going to do it for a change. Nearly 20yrs with red.

My wheels are in getting powder coated. Satin Bronze chrome metallic face and gloss black inside rim. Of course i look at the car with new paint...soon to be refurbished wheels.....and beat up big red brakes and rotors. I cant put the wheels on with them this way....i have come this far. Right? :surrender:

So, i pushed another small snowball down the hill and its getting bigger.

Just stripped the old duplicolor red caliper paint i put on in 2002! I will say it has held up exceptionally well. Now the crossroads. Red...or yellow.

For the sake of change, im going with yellow. Removing them and stripping them is an easy job, so if i have to , i can change the color again.

This is a photoshop of my car with an approximate look of the wheels , (they arent as copper looking as that image ) and a gt3 with a similar complete look and a shade that is more realistic of what they should look like.

I think it will look ok. I know purist will say, those arnt cermaic brakes on your car, so why yellow. But, my car is far from pure . . :roflmao:

Blasphemy!!!!

J/K :)

I really do like the yellow calipers on certain color cars.

Just a consideration, but I'm thinking yellow calipers may show dirty a lot sooner than the red, or black. Normally, yellow indicates carbon ceramic rotors, which I understand are lower dust than ferrous rotors.

Yellow is a 911 caliper color. I don't care for it on our cars, although if you like it, that's all that matters. I think red is the best.

Paint'em pink if it floats your boat. One of my GTS clients has purple calipers and on that car it works.

My question is if you're going to rebuild them: new pistons, seals, guides...

I chickened out. Stuck with red. Carry on everyone.... :beerchug:

I put some yellow on a metal plate...stuck it in the wheel well, then a had a good look at it. A bit too much in the end with new wheels.

Second coat tomorrow.

...and no, im not rebuilding the calipers. Just too much going on with the car the way it is.
