I made my vote based on franchise dealer pricing.

Made my vote based on the fact that a lot of service centers seem to pretend swapping out rotors and pads is more complicated than it really is. I think at least $2500.

I have no idea on the price, but on another Forum I frequent a guy posted a topic entitled "I just made $500 and hour"....and it was because his father-in-law taught him how do a full brake job himself :beerchug:

I figured 500 a wheel, so maybe I guessed low with the added 500 dollar jar of vaseline.

Just shy of $3300.
FCP Euro MB parts run about $1050
Other brand parts about $600.

Waiting to get the car back and check the rotors.

Guessing they can stand another set of pads.
I'm thinking these are the factory pads worn to 2mm.
Small lip and smooth face gets pads, anything else gets rotors also.

Savings get me 1/2 my lift.

Needs rotors, getting rotors.

P.S. FCPEuro has $50 off a $500 order, so I split it into two orders.

The back story.

Had to take the car to the dealership for some insurance work.

They (of course) have to do their 47,000 point safety inspection.

They report that the pads are at 2mm and the rotors have a lip, soit needs brakes around (and they provided the quote).

"Everything else looks great!"

Well, I did the brakes today and find that one tire is showing some cord, from some uneven wear.
I am guessing a betnt wheel.

There is no way the tires were not already showing odd wear that they missed completely.

Margin on tires is too low to bother
