Question: I am looking at purchasing Hans shifter and clamp for the torque tube. I am trying to think through the most minimal way of loosening the TT enough to install the clamp.

I am thinking something along the line as this:

Put Engine support brace on to keep engine steady after TT removal
Drop the exhaust
Remove lower bell housing.
Remove the pinch bolt at the clutch side
Remove the 4 bolts at the clutch side (I have some tools without dropping clutch pack)
loosen the transmission mount bolts
Push the transmission back enough to drop the front of the TT down may 30-45 degrees.
Obtain enough access then to install clamp.
Put everything back.

Thoughts?? I wasn't sure if I could get away with this and not undue the cv joints...

If you’ve got the clutch and both halves of the bell housing out, no problem. I’ve done it that way. The hardest part is mod’ing the foam to fit the Hans Bits.

That position will also allow you to examine what that non-factory duct tape is hiding.
