No idea. Copious heat and wrong wrench?
That's the fitting for the high-pressure output of the receiver/dryer. If you "torched" it, you'd melt/burn a bunch of stuff and although there are a ton of "idiot tricks" on this S4, so far, I haven't found anything melted by a torch.

I did.
Luckily, I have an old H/P A/C hose I can use as a core 'cause that (above-pictured) hose is going in the trash. Maybe I can find replacement fittings.

The more disassembly I do on 'the winter car' the more I want to burn down the shop that did most of the work on it in the last 15 years. At this point I'm so used to finding incompetent, sloppy, lazy, or thoughtless work that it doesn't register enough anymore for me to get irate about. But, this shop has done things that just seem like they were screwing things up so as to make extra work the next time they saw it. I have literally never seen such butchery as on this one.
Here's one example: At what point are you doing the client a disservice by not replacing lug nuts? The answer is "two or three removal/install cycles before this:"
9 of 10 lug nuts on the front were like that -^ one.
